You may have noticed crews in the Cookson Hills Electric service territory continue working on clearing the right-of-way. This clearing of trees, limbs and brush is an ongoing effort to decrease the number of outages and reduce the risk of someone coming in contact with the power lines.
Work is currently wrapping up on the distribution lines coming from the Sallisaw substation. Crews will now begin concentrating on the distribution lines associated with the Keota substation, and will continue clearing efforts throughout 2021. The initial area of right-of-way clearing for the Keota substation will focus on areas east of Keota and north of Highway 9 including: Cowlington, Star, and Jingle Mountain.
Clearing the right-of-way protects individuals from the hazards of electricity and makes power restoration quicker and safer for Cookson Hills Electric members, the public, and our personnel. Please contact Marty Huff at 918-775-2211 with any questions or concerns you may have about this project.
