SCHEDULED POWER OUTAGE
WHERE: Substation 10 – KEO (Keota Substation)
DATE: Monday, November 22, 2021
TIME: Approximately 9:30 a.m.
DURATION: 2 hours - estimated
We want to notify our members of a scheduled power outage on our system. The transmission company supplying power to our substations has requested an outage for the Keota substation in order to perform a switching operation on Monday, November 22, 2021. The work being performed requires de-energization in order to safely perform the task, which means members receiving electric power from Substation 10 – KEO (Keota substation) will be without power while the work is performed.
All members receiving power from Substation 10 – KEO (Keota substation) will be included in this outage. The power transmission company is estimating the outage time to begin between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. and last an estimated two hours.
Please notice the substation listed above has a number and three letters associated with it. This information helps our employees identify substation locations. In an effort to improve communications with our members, we have added the Substation and Feeder information to your monthly bill. Members can now look at your monthly electric bill and see which substation and feeder number supplies power to your location. This new information allows members to determine if they are included in a power outage, and also keep up with locations associated with the buildout of our Cookson Hills Connect fiber-to-the-home project.
While the transmission company anticipates the outage to last two hours, the work could potentially take longer to complete. Please be assured crews will work as fast as they can to safely complete the work and get power restored. We have scheduled automated phone calls as well as outgoing email notifications to help notify members included in the outage.
