Power Pole Inspections Underway
Cookson Hills Electric Cooperative has contracted with Sundance PPI to begin inspecting our power poles. Sundance has been serving customers throughout the Midwest, the South, and the Western United States since 2002. They are currently inspecting poles carrying power lines on the Keota and Sallisaw Substations. Sundance employees will use trucks and ATVs for inspections, so our members may see them in pastures, behind homes, and in other areas necessary to complete the inspection.
Inspecting our poles, lines, and other equipment is a vital step in maintaining a safe and reliable distribution system. While each piece of equipment plays a crucial role in delivering electricity, our power poles bear the weight of our wires, transformers, and other equipment, serving as the “backbone” of our system.
